Alternative Styles on the site

A new section featuring alternative styles is coming on the site… I have been away from the site a long time now… I went through a phase where I couldn’t find time to update the site. Getting tired from my work commutes I became kind of a couch potatoe on my days offs. I wanted something new to refresh the website but was not sure what… I have been interested in romantic/victorian accessories and clothing for a little while now. At times I would spend hours just looking through Etsy listings featuring Steampunk,...

Jewellery trends for Spring/Summer 2012

Although my handmade jewellery doesn’t always follow the main jewellery trends, I like to know what the great designers are doing each season. Whether they specialise in jewellery or not it is interesting to see what they feature because it can be inspiring. I spend almost 2 hours on the train each day so that gives me more than enough time to look through fashion magazines and learn more about the jewellery trends for Spring/Summer 2012. So what appears to be In Vogue for the coming season? Charms, charms, charms… Charm bracelets...

Southsea Boutique Market November 2011

So finally the day arrived… I packed all my handmade jewellery and props for the Southsea Boutique Market. I couldn’t decide what to leave behind so I took pretty much everything. I finally set up my table at the Portsmouth Guildhall and took a quick photo as a souvenir. 11 o’clock and customers started pouring in. All were curious to have a look at the range of handmade and vintage items that the Southsea Boutique Market had to offer. I have to admit I had to have a look around myself as well, leaving Will to deal with my...

Preparing for Southsea Boutique Market part 2

Slowly but surely, I am getting ready for the Southsea Boutique Market. My first exhibition is in two weeks and I am becoming more and more aware of all the little bits I need to get sorted before then. Luckily, I think I have finally got everything for the presentation of my table. I went to get my tablecloth in a beautiful mauve that matches the theme of the website. I also finished my bunting by sewing all the flags together with a deep purple ribbon. So… Time for ‘rehearsal’. Let’s set up the table. Uh oh…...

Preparing for Southsea Boutique Market

After spending hours tidying up the house, it was time to do something more fun. On November 20th (Sunday), I will be exhibiting at the Southsea Boutique Market at Portsmouth Guildhall. Reaally excited! Huge venue, 100 stalls and loads of curious locals are expected for the event. As Christmas is approaching I expect people will be shopping for gifts as well. This is a golden opportunity for me and my little Boutique to shine. I will be taking a good sample of my handmade jewellery (yes, only a sample as I only have one table). Presentation is...

New Wedding Jewellery Section

After all the buzz going on around my freshwater pearl designs, I started to look into what made them so attractive to my female customers… it turns out that most of the pieces were for their special day. Traditionally, pearls and freshwater pearls have made for perfect wedding jewellery pieces. But there is something else… handmade jewellery pieces go the extra mile by making the bride and her bridesmaids feel extra special. Because when you go for handmade jewellery, you are fairly sure to find something a little different....

Your friend’s birthday is approaching… Or maybe this is your partner’s. Of course you want to find her something special. Something  that shows how important she is to you. If you don’t know where to start, here is an idea. A good way to start shopping may be by looking at jewellery featuring birthstones. If it’s handmade jewellery, it’s even more special of course. The basic idea is that there is a gemstone that represent each month of the year. Different gemstones are believed to possess different...
